Located beside the River South Tyne, Haltwhistle is the closest town to the centre of Hadrian’s Wall heritage site and the Northumberland national park both being roughly 2 miles away.
Haltwhistle is a great base for exploring, Carlisle, Gretna and South West Scotland are within an hours drive away. Kielder Water is to the north and to the east is the Northumbria coast and the City of Newcastle, to the south, is the northern Pennines- an area of outstanding natural beauty.

HALTWHISTLE SHEPARD HUTS
The huts and lodge are situated on the edge of Haltwhistle and is the perfect place to relax and gaze at the stars, it is also a fantastic base for exploring the area known as the centre of Britain, Hadrian’s Wall is just a short drive away or travel further afield to the Heritage coast, Alnwick Castle, The Great Border City of Carlisle and also the City of Newcastle.
Our Shepherd huts are rustic yet modern and have everything you need for a relaxing break away and what could be nicer after a long days sightseeing than to light the log burner and relax with a nice glass of wine.
